Rachel Barker, Banks Peninsula Conservation Trust Coordinator

Rachel joined BPCT in 2007: she previously worked for Christchurch City Council for 12 years as a planner involved in stream restoration.

Rachel's role is the BPCT Coordinator. Tasks include organising biodiversity workshops, the Banks Peninsula Conservation Forum, Tui Restoration Project, compiling the Trust's newsletter (Landnotes), supporting the Feral Goat, Deer and Pig Working Group, and Akaroa Fringe Trappers.


BrookeTurner

Brooke Turner Conservation Covenants Officer

Brooke joined BPCT in 2008: she previously worked for WetlandCare, Austalia.

Brooke is the BPCT Covenants Officer. Landowners approach the Trust to enter into a voluntary agreement to protect native vegetation. Brooke follows a process of covenanting which includes legal registration on land titles and fencing of land areas.

Once completed, Brooke oversees ecological surveys and management plans for these special areas on Banks Peninsula.  She organises covenants events and supports the Trust's Restoration Group.

Diana Stronach, Financial Officer

Diana has been Secretary/Treasurer for both large organisations and small local groups. She is a lifestyle farmer and gardener on Banks Peninsula.

Her role is Finance Officer, providing day to day financial transactions through to annual accounts for audit.

Reason for joining the trust: keen to support community groups.

Marie Haley, Wildside Coordinator

Marie is a sixth generation Banks Peninsula resident and trained conservation worker that joined the Trust in mid 2010.

Her role is Wildside Coordinator for the south-eastern bays of Banks Peninsula (from Le Bons Bay through to Akaroa Heads). 

Reason for joining: due to a passion to care for Banks Peninsula life and diversity.
